Jon E. Love

Jon Love is founder and Managing Partner of KingSett Capital, a private equity real estate investment business seeking opportunities where active management can create value. KingSett's first two funds raised $570 million of equity from 11 institutional and private investors which was invested in 45 investments totaling over $2 billion. KingSett Real Estate Growth LP No. 3 closed in January 2007 with $700 million of equity for a $2 billion plus investment program, 40% of which was committed to new investments in 2007.

Jon was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Properties Group. Jon became President of Oxford in 1989 and was CEO from 1992 until November 2001, when Oxford was sold to OMERS in a $4 billion transaction. From Oxford's public IPO in 1995, to its sale in 2001, Oxford completed over $6 billion of acquisitions with its partners, grew its managed property portfolio to over 60 million square feet and created nearly $1 billion of shareholder value.

Jon serves on the CEO Council of the Richardson Financial Group Private Equity Fund and is a member of YPO (Alumni), WPO, CEO and the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.

He holds an Honors Business Degree from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario and is also an active member of Ivey's Advisory Board.

Stuart Lazier

Stuart Lazier is the Partner responsible for the operation, leasing and value optimization of KingSett's property portfolio.

Stuart participates in the property acquisition, due diligence and development of value-creation strategy, and then leads its implementation. Stuart is responsible to assemble and oversee the team assigned to execute the plan on each asset.

Stuart was formerly President of O&Y Enterprise, where he managed the growth of the real estate management services business to over 100 million square feet of commercial space valued in excess of $12 billion. Prior to this, he was the National Managing Partner of Enterprise Property Group, which was Canada's premier third party commercial management services company operating over 50 million square feet across Canada. In 1998, he led the combination of Enterprise and O&Y Properties to form O&Y Enterprise.

He is currently serving as a Vice Chair of Upper Canada College.

Peter Aghar
Chief Investment Officer

Peter Aghar is the Partner responsible for investments and leading the team responsible for acquisitions, underwriting, finance and asset sales.

Peter was formerly the Managing Director of Institutional Accounts for GE Capital Real Estate in Canada. In that position, he led debt and equity real estate transactions on behalf of GE with commitments totaling over $2 billion. Peter led transactions providing equity and debt for single asset investments and portfolios up to and in excess of 100 properties.

Peter is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with an Honors Mathematics Degree, is a Certified Management Accountant and a member of YPO.

David Middleton
Chief Financial Officer

David Middleton works with the balance of the executive team on KingSett’s strategic direction and financial plan.  David has overall responsibility for KingSett’s financial and reporting platform.

David was formerly CFO at Genuity Capital Markets and at Mulvihill Capital Management where he held overall responsibility for financial and capital planning, corporate governance, information technology, human resources, regulatory compliance and providing comprehensive tax strategies. He was CFO for 16 publicly traded closed-end funds which raised over $2B and is familiar with the demands of investor relations and reporting.

David holds a Bachelor of Mathematics (Hons) from the University of Waterloo and has his CA•IT designation. He is a CFA Charterholder and has his CPA (Illinois).

Graham Senst
Managing Director, Canadian Real Estate Income Fund LP

Prior to joining KingSett Graham was Executive Vice President Bentall Capital LP with senior account responsibility for over $2 billion in client capital (April 2003- April 2008).

At Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) Graham was vice president Head of Real Estate Investments managing the multi-asset class investment program including the $1.5 billion commercial mortgage portfolio, the extensive Canadian and US public securities portfolios and direct property portfolio with total assets over $7 billion.

Previously Graham was vice president real estate with Mackenzie Financial/MRS Trust and Vice president Corporate Real Estate at Canada Trust/Truscan where he was responsible for the commercial mortgage program and creating the special loans group in 1991.

Graham is currently president of The Institute of Canadian Real Estate Investment Managers (ICREIM).  Former directorships have included various real estate entities including Residential Equities REIT, Oxford Properties, Senior Care REIT, Princeton Developments and Advisory board positions with Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund IV and Soros Real Estate Fund.

Mr. Senst is a graduate of the Ivey school of Business HBA 1971  MBA 1973.

Joe Mazzocco

At KingSett, Joe is responsible for sourcing, structuring and negotiating the acquisition, financing and disposition of real estate opportunities across Canada.

Joe joined KingSett after 11 successful years in the real estate industry, including investment banking, appraisal and information services. As a member of CIBC World Markets' Real Estate Investment Banking group for 6 years, Joe was responsible for the due diligence and underwriting of billions of dollars of real estate in all asset classes throughout North America and was involved in all aspects of real estate investment banking, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing, advisory and property brokerage.

Joe received an honours degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Real Property Development, from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Rob Kumer

Rob has held various positions at some of Canada’s leading commercial real estate companies such as RioCan and Centrefund where he gained a broad range of experience including, real estate investment and leasing brokerage, green-field development, underwriting and due diligence.

Rob holds a degree in Honours Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, located in London, Ontario.

Colin Baryliuk

Since the year 2000, Colin has gained a broad range of industry experience including Investment Banking, Real Estate Brokerage and Advisory Services.  Prior to joining KingSett Capital, Colin was Vice President within BMO Capital Markets Real Estate Group, where his role included real estate brokerage, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and valuation in all asset classes throughout North America.

Colin is a graduate of the University of Victoria, BC with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and has been a licensed real estate sales representative in Ontario.

Hanif Sachedina

Hanif was most recently with Credit Suisse Real Estate securitization team, where he underwrote commercial real estate loans and proposed loan structures for numerous single asset and portfolio transactions, and was involved in the due diligence, finance, and securitization of over $200 million in real estate. 

Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Hanif was with Western Capital Partners LLC, a Denver based, real estate bridge & mezzanine fund. Additionally, Hanif also spent over three years as a board member of a publicly traded gold exploration company, where he was involved in strategic property acquisitions.

Hanif holds a degree in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Scott Coates

Scott is responsible for execution of KingSett’s mortgage and mezzanine lending initiatives.

Scott was formerly Vice President, Mortgage Lending for a private Vancouver-based commercial mortgage lender specializing in mezzanine debt transactions. Prior to this, he expanded his real estate finance expertise in progressive positions with recognized Canadian financial institutions: The Toronto-Dominion Bank, Scotiabank, Sun Life Financial and MCAP Financial, a CDP Capital company. He brings to KingSett 20 years of experience in the areas of senior and mezzanine mortgage lending, including interim land development and construction financing; whole loan sales; securitization; and corporate finance.

Scott is a graduate of the Schulich School of Business at York University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.

Ernest Licursi

Ernest is responsible for mortgage loan origination.

Ernest was formerly the Vice President of Mortgage Investments for Maple Mortgage Trust Advisors, where he lead the growth of the construction and term mortgage portfolio to $1 Billion.  Prior to this, Ernest developed his financial proficiency in successive positions with recognized Canadian financial institutions including The Toronto-Dominion Bank, First City Trust and MCAP Financial.  He has also owned a property management and a mortgage brokerage company specializing in conventional and mezzanine transactions.  Ernest brings more than 20 years of real estate lending experience to the KingSett team.

Ernest holds an Honours Commerce Degree from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.

Jeffrey Wagner

Jeffrey provides underwriting and closing support to the mortgage investment team and joined KingSett Capital as an analyst in 2003.

Jeffrey was formerly a Financial Analyst with GE Real Estate. In addition, Jeffrey has real estate experience at major insurers, brokers and appraisal firms. Having worked on office, industrial, retail, and apartment transactions, Jeffrey brings a wealth of product experience and financial modelling knowledge to the KingSett team.

Jeffrey graduated from McGill University with a Finance Major in 2003.

Jim Hewitt

Jim is responsible for leasing, property management, tenant services and capital program execution.

Jim was formerly Vice President of Oxford Properties Group, having completed the last 2 years of his 9 year tenure working in Edmonton, managing a 3 million square foot office and retail portfolio. Prior to this, Jim was responsible for the management of a key Downtown Toronto portfolio including Royal Bank Plaza, One Financial Place and WaterPark Place. Jim also brings to KingSett an additional 9 years of sales, real estate brokerage, and construction experience in Canada and the United States.

Jim is a graduate of the University of Toronto having earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1986.

William (Bill) Logar

Bill is responsible for executing value creation strategies across KingSett’s Real Estate Portfolio.

Prior to joining KingSett Capital, Bill advanced for eight years through Oxford Properties Group, concluding his property management career as General Manager, responsible for Royal Bank Plaza. Prior to working for Oxford, Bill spent four years working for Fieldgate Development where he was responsible for residential/industrial management and design build projects.

He is also serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Krek Slovenian Credit Union.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree in Urban & Regional Planning from Ryerson University.

Christian Taylor

Christian is responsible for executing value creation strategies where KingSett’s investments are best enhanced through their development opportunities.

Christian was formerly Development Director of Talisker Corporation, a private real estate development and investment company operating in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. In that position, Christian spent six years overseeing all aspects of the development and construction process for greenfield and redevelopment sites in the Greater Toronto Area and the United Kingdom. Previously, Christian spent four years at PenEquity as Planning Manager. He was responsible for the planning and development of large destination urban entertainment centers in the Greater Toronto Area.

Christian holds an honors degree in Geography (Urban Development Program) from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Science in Planning, specializing in Urban Planning & Development and Economic Planning & Policy, from the University of Toronto.

George Miller
Vice President, Accounting

George is the Partner responsible for financial and tax reporting and general administration. George works closely with third-party property managers and co-owners to ensure timely and effective financial information for disclosure to investors, lenders and regulatory authorities. George also supports the acquisitions team in financial due diligence and in closing on acquisitions and sales.

George was formerly Vice President and Controller for the TD Bank Investment Real Estate operating entities. He was responsible for a team of five accountants coordinating all of the reporting and administration requirements for 65 properties. He was the key financial person responsible for coordinating the $2.0 billion divestment of the TD's real estate portfolio.

George has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1980.

My Lam is the Controller responsible for maintaining the integrity of the accounting information including coordinating and monitoring financial reporting from our third party property managers.

My was formerly Manager of Accounting at Oxford Properties Group. My led a team of professional accountants responsible for the issuance of financial statements, budgets, quarterly reforecasts, cash monitoring and distributions for numerous owned, co-owned and managed properties throughout Canada. Her portfolio comprised of 4 million square feet of high quality office, retail and commercial space in downtown Toronto.

My obtained her Certified General Accounting designation in 1993 and continues to actively participate in CGA professional development programs.

Mark Cole
Director of Finance and Administration

Mark is the Director of Finance and Administration responsible for the financial reporting of our third fund and Mark takes a lead role in all tax reporting and in the cash management process.

Prior to joining KingSett, Mark managed the tax and regulatory reporting needs relating to portfolio divestures and acquisitions of a private REIT. In addition, Mark spent 15 years as the key financial person with various private entrepreneurs in the real estate development industry specializing in residential, commercial and industrial development.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1986.

Valerie Ridley

Valerie was formerly a Senior Property Accountant at Oxford Properties Group. Valerie was responsible for the financial statements, budgets, quarterly reforecasts and cash distributions for her portfolio which comprised of over 1M square feet of office and retail space in downtown Toronto .

Valerie graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and is pursuing the Certified General Accounting designation.

Prior to joining KingSett Capital, Minh spent 5 years working at Oxford Properties Group, most recently as Accounting Coordinator. Minh’s responsibilities included supervising and training junior accounting staff, preparing financial statements, budgets, reforecasts and cash distributions for his portfolio of over 2M square feet of office and retail space in downtown Toronto and Vancouver.

Minh graduated from Centennial College with a three-year diploma in Business – Accounting.

Tammy Thai

Tammy is the Corporate Accountant responsible for providing accounting support to the Controller and other administrative functions.

Tammy was formerly a Senior City Accountant with Imperial Parking Canada Corporation, one of North America's largest parking operators. Over 5 years, she played an integral role in maintaining parking management transactions and financial records on behalf of many Landlords and Property Managers throughout the Toronto Region, as well as the Eastern Regions of Canada.

Tammy graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Management with a major in Accounting and is actively pursuing the Certified General Accounting designation.

Kathy Anderson is the Executive Assistant for Jon Love and Stuart Lazier.

Kathy is responsible for the management of all internal administrative processes at KingSett Capital. Her administrative experience with Enterprise Property Group and O&Y Enterprise provides the team with a very broad set of skills. Her experience included executive support, corporate event coordination, client liaison, and a vast array of administrative and accounting duties.

Kathy joined KingSett Capital as a key member of the KingSett team in July 2002.

Yafit Shimoni

Yafit Shimoni is the Administrative Assistant for KingSett Capital.

Yafit supports the Portfolio Management team and works with Anna Hrazdira, supporting the Acquisitions and Finance team to jointly ensure the overall flow of the administrative processes for the entire firm.

Her previous experience in the Israeli Defense Force and her work at Check Point software technologies as a European Region Administrator has given her outstanding organizational skills and a strong sense of corporate responsibility.
