Scott Coates

Scott Coates is the President, KingSett Mortgage Corporation. Scott joined KingSett in 2006 and leads KingSett’s national commercial and residential mortgage lending business, including the firm’s multifamily CMHC lending platform. He serves as Fund Manager for the KingSett Senior Mortgage Fund LP and the
KingSett High Yield Fund LP and was appointed to KingSett’s Management Committee in 2019.

Scott has over 38 years of experience in senior and subordinate mortgage lending, including land, construction and income-producing property financing, loan syndication, whole-loan sales, loan securitization and corporate finance. Prior to joining KingSett, Scott held progressive positions with TD Bank, Scotiabank, Sun Life Financial, MCAP Financial and Trez Capital.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business at York University. Scott serves on the University Health Network Biospecimen Service Governance Committee and is a member of the Till & McCulloch Society at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
