Role Responsibilities
Review and analyze monthly property financial statements and supporting working papers to ensure consistent high standards of financial information at the property level have been provided by our Property Management Companies.
Day-to-day accounting, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, preparation of financial statements.
Assist with preparation of summary reports and portfolio analysis.
Responsible for the annual budget process for the properties.
Liaise with the auditor for the annual audit process.
Participate in process improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with the Asset Management team to identify and resolve financial reporting issues.
Review or prepare statement of adjustment and post-closing adjustment for acquisition/ disposition of assets.
Coordinate the integration of new properties into the workflow and reporting structure.
Handle portfolio treasury functions, i.e. renewal of BA, borrowing requirements and any funding requests.
Participate in accounting system upgrades.
Liaise with property managers on HST/QST audit.
Participate in special projects, as they arise.
Candidate Profile
3-6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the real estate industry.
Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, business or a related field.
Professional accountancy designation is preferred.
Proficiency within Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Experience with Yardi Voyager is preferred.
High attention to detail with the ability to work independently under pressure.
Strong analytical thinking, project management and process improvement expertise.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels, both internally and externally.
Compensation
Base salary range of $110,000-$130,000.
Total compensation includes salary, variable discretionary bonus, benefits, & other perks.
