About the Opportunity

KingSett Capital is seeking a Director, Finance to join the Toronto team reporting to the VP Finance. This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing models produced by the Fund Finance – Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, including investment metrics, distribution models and capital models used for investment analyses, forecasting and covenant compliance, as well as ad hoc models used for transaction and sensitivity analyses. The successful incumbent will be internally integrated with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, investment, asset management, and property finance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop team members of 1-2.
  • Management and review of the monthly and quarterly reporting process, including preparing consolidated financial statements, investor summary reports, real estate portfolio analysis and other ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Monthly review of fund and covenant forecasts using capital models.
  • Annual consolidation of Fund financial results, including year-end audit working papers, ASPE financial statements and liaise with auditors and tax team.
  • Build models for transaction, scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Quarterly review of board book schedules and valuation files.
  • Quarterly results and annual budgets review meeting with co-owners, as required.
  • Preparation and review of investor related activities for Funds finance teams, including addressing investor requests and portal communication processes.
  • Work on ad hoc projects/analyses to support Investments, Strategic Capital, Development, Asset Management and Executive Management teams.
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Undergraduate degree in finance or business.
  • Real Estate experience is considered an asset.
  • CPA designation required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a business or finance role, experience in the real estate industry, modelling and investment analyses a strong asset.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, ability to present complex information and transactions in a clear, concise manner.
  • Exceptional level of Excel proficiency and a strong familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedicated, well-organized and resourceful individual with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize, delegate, empower staff and to drive team’s intensity, efforts and support to achieve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team player with positive attitude and exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Highest ethical standards and displays both professional and personal integrity.
